What can I do to avoid getting seasick on board?

Modified on Wed, 6 Sep, 2023 at 5:06 PM

There are a number of things you can do to prevent seasickness.

First of all, make sure that you go on holiday well rested. If you are tired, you are more likely to suffer from seasickness. In addition, you eat enough food on board.

The moment you suffer from seasickness, it is important that you look for fresh air. In addition, try to find the center of the ship. For example, if the cruise ship has 10 decks, look for a spot in the middle of deck 5 or 6. This is where the swell of the ship is the least.

You can also buy various tablets/pills at both the pharmacy and the drugstore that help against seasickness. Often these kind of pills are also for sale on board of the cruise ship.
