Almost all cruise lines have a minimum age for taking babies on a cruise vacation.
A higher minimum age applies on various cruises (such as Transatlantic cruises), because of the medical assistance on board.
Cruise line | Minimum age | Exceptions |
Costa Cruises | 6 months | - Transatlantic cruises |
Celebrity Cruises | 6 months | Hawaii, Australia, South America and Transpacific sailings: 12 months |
Cunard | 6 months | Full World Cruise, Exotic Cruise and Transatlantic cruises: 12 months |
MSC Cruises | No minimum age (up to 12 months a medical certificate is required) | None
|
P&O Cruises | 6 months | Transatlantic and long cruises: 12 months |
Good to know:
Baby cots are placed in the cabin on request. With some cruise lines you are obliged to book at least an outside cabin if you are travelling with a baby, such as with Costa Cruises. There is not enough space for a baby cot in the inner cabins of the Costa cruise ships.
